Detailed explanation of rapid dieless forming method of ceramic bar
There are many molding methods for ceramic bars, among which dry pressing and isostatic pressing are common, but they all depend on molds. Here, Kezhong Ceramics Factory will introduce a rapid dieless molding method, which greatly shortens the preparation period of ceramics and speeds up the production efficiency.
Rapid dieless forming, also known as rapid forming or dieless forming, is a brand-new ceramic rod forming process proposed by the concept of integrated manufacturing in the early 1990 s. The basic principle and process of rapid dieless molding are as follows: directly using the design results of computer CAD, the complex three-dimensional components are sliced and divided by computer software to form computer-executable pixel unit files, and then the ceramic powder to be molded is quickly formed into actual pixel units through external equipment similar to computer printout, and the required three-dimensional components can be directly formed by the superposition results of one unit. Compared with the traditional molding method, the rapid dieless molding technology has the following obvious advantages:
① There is no need for any mold or model to participate in the molding process, which makes the production process more integrated, shortens the manufacturing cycle and improves the production efficiency.
② The geometric shape and size of the molded body can be changed at any time through the computer software processing system without waiting for the design and manufacture of the mold, thus greatly shortening the development time of new products. Especially when the shape, requirements and batch of ceramic parts change, it is not necessary to redesign, manufacture and install special molds, but only change the CAD model, readjust and set parameters to manufacture new parts, thus reducing the production cost;
(3) Because the pixel unit size of external molding printing can be as small as micron, it can be used to prepare miniature electronic ceramic devices for life science and small satellites, as well as other arbitrary complex prototypes or parts. In particular, the complexity and size of parts have little influence on the difficulty of molding process, molding quality and molding time, and have advantages over traditional molding methods in small batch or single piece production.
Because of the above advantages, rapid dieless molding technology has developed rapidly since its appearance. Up to now, there are more than a dozen, and many commercial applications have been formed in polymer and other industries. However, the research of this technology in the field of advanced ceramics is relatively late, and many problems need to be further studied.
Typical rapid dieless ceramic molding processes include selective laser sintering (SLS), inkjet printing (IJP), layered solid molding (LOM), fused deposition molding (FDC), stereo lithography (SI-) and so on.
