Analysis of Powder Characteristics of Zirconia Ceramics

Zirconia ceramic powder can be produced by isostatic pressing to produce various types of ceramic parts, with high density and high hardness of sintered products. Below is the analysis of the powder characteristics of zirconia ceramics by Kezhong Ceramic Factory.

In order to verify the powder characteristics of zirconia ceramics, we conducted characteristic analysis through the following experiments:

We add a certain amount of binder in the spray water, and the zirconia ceramic powder produced by the gel solid phase synthesis method is set as F1. By controlling the tilt angle and rotation speed of the dry press, the relative amount and time interval of water spray and powder addition, we can obtain the green body with good cylindricity and uniform size, and its bulk density reaches 3 82 g /cm3。 However, the zirconia ceramic powder produced by the coprecipitation method is F2. It is difficult to stick powder to the crystal seeds during the cylinder dry pressing process, so it needs to spray more water mist, but it is easy to agglomerate, resulting in uneven size of the ceramic body, and the density only reaches 3 27 g/cm3, and easy to break, with obvious delamination on the fracture surface.

Zirconia ceramics are difficult to dry press formed, mainly due to unclear requirements for powders. At present, zirconia powder prepared by coprecipitation method is mainly sold in the domestic market, and its calcination synthesis temperature is low, the powder is too loose, and the specific surface area is large, so it is not suitable for preparing zirconia ceramics by dry pressing.

We use isostatic pressing forming technology to produce and process zirconia ceramics, ensuring the product qualification rate while greatly improving the wear resistance, high temperature resistance, and impact resistance of the product. All technical indicators must exceed those of ceramic parts produced by other processes.
