The types and characteristics of alumina ceramics are already in the traditional peak season, and under the layout of weak supply and demand, aluminum prices may return to the cost pricing model. Therefore, the price of aluminum oxide has become a focus of concern for the sales market. Since mid to late June 2019, China's alumina prices have experienced a smooth decline. As of February 12th, the quotation for alumina in the northern market is 2550-2700 yuan/ton, while the quotation for alumina in the southern market is 2600-2650 yuan/ton. Due to the gradual resolution of the environmental protection shutdown incident in Shanxi Province in May, only the export and transmission of information has been suspended in Shanxi Province, resulting in an overall shortage of only about one million tons of production capacity in China, far below the estimated level. With the production of Hydro, import order information is gradually being cashed in as a primary source of goods in the Chinese sales market. Coupled with the estimated increase in production capacity promotion for aluminum oxide plants in the third quarter, there is significant pressure on the supply side in the medium to long term.

At present, there is a certain callback function for aluminum prices, but the overall profitability of electrolytic aluminum factory companies still remains high. Under the pressure of higher profits, it is estimated that the requirements for raw materials will continue to show an upward trend. Under the influence of various factors such as strong support points for raw material costs in the middle and later stages, reduced production of aluminum oxide, obstacles in the circulation of goods in the sales market, and an estimated increase in demand for alumina in the future. The probability of alumina prices fluctuating and rising in the later stage is relatively high.
