The difference between high-purity alumina ceramics and ordinary alumina ceramics
Alumina ceramics are a widely used ceramic, and due to their superior performance, their applications in modern society have become increasingly widespread, meeting the needs of daily use and special performance. Generally speaking, alumina ceramics are divided into two types: high-purity type and ordinary type, as described below:
1、 High purity alumina ceramics:
1. Using its transparency and resistance to alkali metal corrosion as a sodium lamp tube; It can be used as an integrated circuit substrate and high-frequency insulation material in the electronic industry.
2. Ceramic materials with an Al2O3 content of over 99.9%, due to their high sintering temperature of 1650-1990 ℃ and transmission wavelengths of 1-6 μ m. Generally, molten glass is made to replace platinum crucibles;
2、 Ordinary alumina ceramics:
(According to the different Al2O3 content, it can be divided into varieties such as 99 porcelain, 95 porcelain, 90 porcelain, 85 porcelain, etc. Sometimes, those with Al2O3 content of 80% or 75% are also classified as ordinary alumina ceramic series.)
1. Among them, 99 alumina ceramic materials are used to make high-temperature crucibles, refractory furnace tubes, and special wear-resistant materials, such as ceramic bearings, ceramic seals, and water valve plates.
2. Due to the frequent incorporation of some talc into 85 ceramics, their electrical properties and mechanical strength are improved. They can be sealed with metals such as molybdenum, niobium, and tantalum, and some are used as vacuum devices.
3. 95 alumina porcelain is mainly used as corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant components.
With the increasingly mature technology of alumina ceramics, there will be continuous innovation and research and development in the future, with more products related to alumina ceramics.
